Throat cancer develops in your throat (pharyngeal cancer) / voice box (laryngeal cancer). Although most throat cancers arise from the same types of cells, they are classified based on the specific area of the throat where they originate. There are different types of throat cancers, such as nasopharyngeal cancer, oropharyngeal cancer, hypopharyngeal cancer, glottic cancer, supraglottic cancer, and subglottic cancer.
