Tonsil cancer, a type of oropharyngeal cancer, begins in the tissue of the tonsils. It is considered as throat cancer. This cancer usually starts in the cells lining the surface of the tonsils. The tonsils help the immune system fight germs. There are two different types of tonsil cancers, including HPV-positive tonsil cancer and HPV-negative tonsil cancer.
